Daphne Wageman (1982, NL)
She discovered the dry-plate photography from 1871 and has been in love with the analog craftmanship ever since. She has specialized in 19th-century glass negatives since 2014.
Daphne is impassioned by the beauty of imperfection, the manual development and the slow-working process in days instead of seconds or minutes. She captures tangible memories, portraying a moment which has already become history during the time of development in the darkroom. She creates positive images with cyanotype on glass and carbon prints on copper plates; her craftmanship makes every plate unique.
Her previous work has been shown in the Gorcums Museum, Museum MORE, Rijksmuseum Twenthe, Scope Art Fair (Miami) and Musée du Louvre (Paris).
